The Office for Community Wellness is excited to be offering this Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training on Saturday, April 13th, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, in the Community Room at the Redeemer Church located at 90 Rte. 32 in New Paltz.
First Aiders complete a 2-hour, self-paced online class, and then participate in a 5-hour, in-person instructor-led session with a meal break.
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adults. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adults who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis, and help connect them to the appropriate care.
